What is Fond’s Photo Journal?

Some moments have a scene you want to return to: a meal shared with someone you love, an afternoon in a new place, a small celebration. When an eligible new note contains a meaningful visual moment, Fond may add an editorial illustration above the entry. Eligible artwork also appears together in Photo Journal.

You begin by speaking or typing. You do not need to draw, upload a photograph, or describe a polished image prompt. The saved note supplies the story. Your words remain separate from the generated interpretation.

What makes a useful entry?

Describe what actually happened. A setting, an object, and the detail that mattered give you something concrete to look back on. For example: “We celebrated Sam’s new job at the kitchen table. A lemon cake, three candles, and the windows open to the garden.” This is a fictional writing example, not a promise of a particular generated image.

There is no need to make every entry picturesque. Brief practical notes and ordinary difficult days can stay as words alone. Photo Journal is selective; writing more words does not guarantee an image.

How to find your Photo Journal

1. Save a new moment in Fond by voice or text.
2. Give eligible artwork time to be generated. It may not appear immediately.
3. Open Photo Journal in the app to browse the eligible images available in your account.
4. Return to the original entry when you want the details behind a scene.

Availability depends on eligible content and generation limits. Existing older entries are not automatically promised new illustrations. If your collection is empty, it does not mean your note was lost.

Illustration, photography, and privacy

Generated artwork can invent or misrepresent visual details. Treat it as an illustration, not evidence of a person’s appearance or an exact reconstruction. A photo diary built around uploading and editing photographs serves a different purpose.

Fond uses Anthropic to help select and describe suitable scenes and OpenAI to generate illustrations from scene descriptions and relevant journal context. Cloudflare stores the resulting artwork. Read the privacy policy before deciding whether this approach fits you.
